Hawkers and Wonder Pies have teamed up to create something that makes a lot of sense: a beer pie made with Hawkers Stout.
Hawkers and Wonder Pies are both Reservoir locals, with Wonder Pies located less than a kilometre down the road from the brewery. We're big believers in supporting and collaborating with the independent businesses around us, so when the opportunity came up to put our Stout into one of Wonder Pies' pies, it seemed like a very local no-brainer.
For this collaboration, Hawkers Stout heads down the road to Wonder Pies, where it's used to braise chunky beef with caramelised onions before being wrapped in pastry and turned into the finished beer pie.
The Beer Pie
The collaboration starts with chunky beef braised in Hawkers Stout and caramelised onions. The stout brings rich malt character to the filling, while the caramelised onions add sweetness and depth.
Wonder Pies then do what they do best and turn it into a proper pie.
The Launch Party
We're launching the collaboration at Hawkers Brewery on Saturday 12 September from 12pm.
Come down to the brewery to be among the first to try the beer pie, grab a few beers and celebrate the collaboration with us!
