Hawkers Beer are awfully proud of their West Coast IPA, and so they should be. It’s won an AIBA trophy, many, many gold medals and it’s a beer that’s beloved by drinkers far and wide. Four Seasons is a celebration of that West Coast style, where the Hawkers brewers feature one of the beer’s four hops – Southern Cross, Simcoe, Mosaic, and Krush – and build a beer based around that variety and the season. (If your memory goes back to 2024, you might remember Four Seasons being a series where the same ingredients made very different beers. That was last year: keep up!)
Following a winter stout that was heavy on the Southern Cross, Four Seasons Spring 2025 is a double West Coast and what a wonderfully drinkable 9.0 percent beer it is. The American hop Krush is the chosen star here, and though quite a modern hop, this is a Westie dripping with classic aromatics. There is loads of citrus, a little pine and a lasting and herbal side. Such shades will not doubt be well appreciated by fans of the Hawkers original but it also leans a little more into mango and stone fruit that add that add a sticky, almost sweet side, while the bitterness and lean finish ensure an effortless landing.
