To quote David Bowie and Queen, “Mmm num ba de”.

For Hawkers, Under Pressure might take the name of the classic anthem, but it’s also a tribute to the American hop Krush, which was formerly known as HBC 586. To brew it, the Melbourne brewers have sourced the stuff in three distinct ways, with T90, Cryo and HyperBoost all added to what’s been dubbed a Krush-hopped SoCal IPA.

It may be a beer style with a lot of words, but there’s an elegant simplicity thanks to a lean, crisp and gently bitter base that creates a launching pad for those Krush notes. That single hop served three ways brings a mix of guava, rockmelon, mango and a soft touch of pineapple.

“Dum bum ba be” indeed…
